WALK FOR RYAN & LEUKEMIA

So the walk is done and everyone's feet are now well rested!

Wana see some photo's of the walk?

Our Walk

"Some of you will remember Charlotte Bee who worked for us in the HSC and within complaints – the most eternally optimistic and joyful person you could wish to meet.

Charlotte left us and married Luke and started a family of her own. She had a little boy called Louis followed quickly by Ryan, they certainly take after their Mum in that their beaming smiles can brighten the day.

Ryan is also the bravest of boys.

Shortly after moving to Spain to start a new life, at the tender age of 5 months Ryan was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukaemia and admitted to Great Ormond Street Hospital. AML can affect anyone, but is very rare in childhood, only 50 children a year are diagnosed with this awful disease!!

At 12 months old Ryan has undergone Chemotherapy, a Bone Marrow Transplant and experimental treatment, sadly despite all this the Leukaemia returned and the options have run out, Ryan will be admitted to Naomis House where he will spend the short time remaining.

We will be doing a sponsored walk on Saturday 21st September from Sandbanks to Hengistbury head.

We will be raising money for charities that support childhood cancer and Clic Sergant who have worked to support Ryans family during this time.

12 miles may not sound far, but for some of us that do not possess flat shoes it may prove to be a challenge.

We would like as many of you as possible to support us either by joining our walk or donating whatever you can afford – please give what you can.

Sadly by the time of our walk Ryan will have earnt his wings – we will be doing this in memory of a wonderful little boy."

Thank you

Nikki Whitehouse, Emma Cook, Emma Rolls and Nicky Hawkins
